VISIT US ON FACEBOOK: @ButterwickTDN to see our fantastic Pre-school live in action, and read our 5* parent feedback! Butterwick Pre-school is a purpose built setting in the centre of the idyllic Butterwick village, directly next to the Local Primary school.
'The difference we can see in him since starting this amazing setting is exceptional''
We open Monday- Friday 8am-4.30pm and offer places for 2 -8 year olds including holiday club and before/after school club for Butterwick Primary school children. 2,3 and 4 year old funding is available, (depending on eligibility) on standard offer, (38 weeks a year) or stretched offer, (50 weeks a year).
We play a large part in our local community, not only do we have a second to none transition process with the Primary school, we have built particularly strong links with the local churches, care homes, hospital, and wider community. We take pride in how inspiring our children are in supporting others and promote compassion through everything we do. Not only through our learning and development themes such as 'people who help us' (where the children helped in buying clothes for the homeless), but in the every day discrete details such as helping a friend open a crisp packet!
Our curriculum is carefully planned and implemented through termly themes that inspire a love of unique learning opportunities, as well as individually devised learning journeys for each child. Right from each child's very first day development mapping begins, supporting them to ensure complete 'school readiness'.
Getting changed for P.E; using real crockery and stacking the dishwasher; voting through our polling station, are just a few examples of the opportunities available to secure the beginning of 'life skills'.
We also have a 80m2 outdoor Risky Play area to our setting, view our Virtual Tour below for more details!
'The preschool do an excellent job of linking real life to the children's everyday experiences'
Each key person is carefully selected for children to ensure the strongest bonds with families and ensure the correctly differentiated structure for their time at Preschool. The key person is responsible for the children's profiling, although we work very much as 'teams around the children'. We have an open door policy here at Butterwick Preschool, talk to any of us, anytime!
Breakfast is optional at 8am payable at 50p per day.
Snacks are provided at 10.15am and 3.00pm with a drink of water or milk, our snack menu is ever developing and full of well researched, healthy options such as guacamole and humous.
Lunch is at 11.45pm for Hortons and Fish, 12.30pm for Sneetches. Parents/Carers are asked to provide the children with a healthy packed lunch. Our staff eat with the children to encompass our belief on this 'home like', vital, communication rich time in the day.
